With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Allen M. Davis (BIG MIKE), 67, on April 17, 2024, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He peacefully bid farewell to this world at his cherished home, leaving behind a legacy illuminated by love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Born on 07/19/1956 in New Orleans LA, Michael was filled with adventure and mischief Whether he was climbing tall trees or exploring places he shouldn't, he always had a big smile. Embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm, His mischievous antics and contagious laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though he has departed, his laughter and joy will forever echo in our hearts.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved family members, friends, and community. Survived by Melanie Payne Davis (Spouse), Reda Payne (Mother-in-Law), Jabari Brown (Son), Rochelle Beachem Cordell (Daughter), Kenneth Beachem III (Son). Grandchildren Jabari Brown Jr., Denim Brown, Gavin Cordell, Madison Cordell, Sylas Whetsell, Odin Beachem, Nicholas Cox, Chloe Beachem, Miyah Beachem, and Amelia Beachem. Sister, Denise (Bae-Bae) Brown, Brothers Darnell (Tunafishdog), Eric (Bonehead) McCullar and Darwin Brown, Nephews Antwan (Freddy) Brown and Daryl (Fat Boy) Stephens, Nieces Addie (Bumba) and Ruby Brown (Ma), Cousins Patricia Williams, Toya Clemens, Nicki, Alice, Helen Mae, Byron, and Val Jean, Best Friends Robert James and Keel, and many more loved ones. Preceded by Lilian Delaney Davis (Mother), August Davis (Father), Mr. Ron Payne (Father-in-Law), Tia Rose Davis (Daughter), and Dominique Beachem (Son), Annie Mae (Favorite Aunt), Palmere O’Gwinn (Aunt), Uncle Allen, and many more!

He served in the military, was active in the Freemasonry, and manned the presses for a prominent Chicago newspaper. His varied life experiences deepened his personality, enhancing how he related with others. Throughout his journey, he exemplified commitment, unity, and hard work, mirrored in his deeds and relationships. His memory remains treasured by those who knew him, leaving a legacy filled with laughter, fellowship, and affection, woven with a rich tapestry of experiences and treasured moments.

Additionally, he cherished his role as a truck driver with distinguished dedication and expertise, earning his commercial driver’s license, and masterfully navigating Indiana's roadways. He enjoyed capturing many hearts with his playful wit and deep passion for NFL football, especially for his beloved Chicago Bears. His cheerful demeanor and knack for storytelling brought smiles to everyone he met. Many will confirm that he was always ready to lend a hand and express his pride in others. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, camaraderie, and love.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home with a service beginning at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com.
