Thomas Benjamin Johnson born September 24, 1965 to Carol Kelley Jones and Benjamin Johnson departed this expression on April 19, 2024. Tommy was educated in the Indianapolis Public school system and completed his education in Perry Township.
Tommy was raised in a nondenominational religious home and he gave his life to Christ at 10 years old and continued to honor and serve God.
Tommy went on to work several jobs as a bouncer in nightclubs, he worked security for other businesses, and was a production worker at Gibbs Die Cast in Henderson, Kentucky where he was injured on the job and permanently disabled.
Tommy’s true love was spending time with his 5 grandchildren. They were the highlight of his life. Tommy was a former member of Prince Hall Lodge #4 F & AM of Terre Haute, Indiana.
Tommy lived life to the fullest with a gigantic heart, a warm smile and a loving spirit. Tommy loved people and never met a stranger. He fed everyone, he never let anyone that crossed his path feel alone, he sheltered people when they needed it and he entertained everyone that crossed his path.
Tommy loved his trains as much as he loved music. He would play blues and R&B music from sunrise to sunset no matter what time of day it was. He loved to dance and sing in his smooth Barry White like voice that he knew would move the ladies. Tommy loved to cook and often while grilling he knew neighbors would smell his food and immediately inquire about when it would be ready. Tommy loved to entertain people with jokes and celebrity impressions. He kept everyone in stitches and was the life of the party.
Tommy had a servant's heart and never failed to display it. Tommy will be sorely missed by so many.
Tommy will be lovingly missed by his companion Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson, children Kendra Johnson, Jaiden Fletcher, Benjamin Fletcher (Andy), and Nevaeh Johnson; Grandchildren Keyonna, Kairo, Nova, Azariah, and Octavious; Father Ben T.
