Cora Jane Walter, 86, of Dana IN, passed away, September 16th, 2019 with her family by her side at Clinton Gardens. She was born to Floyd and Josephine Myer, January 21st, 1933.
She married the late Carl Walter in 1951, and they settled down on a farm in Parke County after Carl left the Army where they raised three children before relocating to Dana in 1986.
Cora is survived by children: Cole (Donna) Walter of Dana; Cathy (Ed) Walter of Clinton; and Cara (Tony) Goldner, of Dana. She is also survived by grandchildren Jackie (Ryan) Hastings, Ashley (Sean) Vineyard, Matthew Hollingsworth, Sara (Denny) Benskin, Lucas Goldner, David Polomski, Josh (Karlee) McCollum, and Jay McCollum. She was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren that brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by sister in law Ruth Hollingsworth, niece Rhea (Steve) Shaw, and nephews Mark Hollingsworth and Steve (Elizabeth) Myer. Cora was proceeded in death by one son Clay.
Cora worked in the Cafeteria at Eli Lilly after her children were grown and made many lifelong friends while enjoying her employment. Cora loved to take care of people, rather it was baking you a treat, wiping tears and bandaging knees or just being there as a friend for anyone in need. She enjoyed playing cards and especially liked to win. Cora was loved immensely by her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5th from 4-10pm at 1776 E. 775 S. Hillsdale Indiana 47854. Feel free to bring a covered dish and your drink of choice. Hers was whiskey and Diet Coke.
The family asks in Lieu of Flowers to make a donation in her name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
