David P Johnson

David P. Johnson, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Flint, MI on October 29, 1952. His family moved to Indiana when he was in high school where he graduated from Bloomington High School in 1970. Dace attended DePauw University and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and later earned a Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University.

After 7 years of teaching, Dave bought into the family business of Jiffy Treet Ice Cream in Bloomington, IN. He ran as many as three stores in Bloomington for 21 years and sold them in 2002 to open a new Jiffy Treet in Linton, IN in 2003.  After 15 years of business in Linton he retired on July 1,2018.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorthy Johnson and his brother Chris Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Candy Johnson, as well as his brother, James Johnson and sisters, Sandee(Johnson) Lowthian, Cathy(Johnson) Trent, and Karen(Johnson) Friday.

Cremation was chosen with no visitation but in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Parkinson's Research Foundation. A private Celebration of Life event is being planned for family and close friends.
