Edward E. Mahurin, 67, of Terre Haute died November 6, 2019 from brain trauma after falling from a ladder in his home. He was born March 13, 1952 in Brazil Indiana to Gilbert and Edna (Reffit) Mahurin.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, sons Edward Mahurin, Jr. of Terre Haute, Bryant Mahurin of Miami Indiana and Sean Dixon of Nevada; daughters Misty Emerick, Michelle Emerick, Skyla Mahurin, and Heavin Mahurin; two step-daughters Lindsey Rose Wallace and Brittany Rose Donovan, brother David Mahurin of Bartow, Florida, Richard Mahurin of Terre Haute, sisters Dorothy Beasley of Bartow, Florida, Vicki Freeman of Kissimmee, Florida, twenty seven foster children, and nine grandchildren.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Mahurin, and brother Robert Mahurin.
Edward was in the last graduating class from Gerstmeyer High School in 1971. He also attended Indiana Vocational College for off-set printing. Edward was veteran serving in the United States Airforce. He later worked for Wal-mart, Community Connections, Elder’s Journey and Putnam County Comprehensive Services, and also was self-employed as owner and operator of Mahurin Lawn Services.
His wife Marie would like to extend a thank you to the employees of Terre Haute Regional Hospital ICU and the fifth floor as well as Dr. Saffon, brain trauma surgeon and Dr. Hopkins, neurologist, for the care Edward received there.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Samaritan Funeral Home. Vistitation Tuesday, November 12, 2019 will begin at noon at the funeral home with services at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Janice Smith will be officiating.
