Mark worked as a respiratory therapist for many years, prior to that, he served in the United States military, however, he never liked to discuss his time in the service. He did his duty. Nothing more, nothing less. Upon retirement, he moved into Harrison’s Crossing in Terre Haute, where his dry humor and friendly demeanor won everyone over who had the pleasure to know him. While there, he played Santa Claus during the Christmas family nights and even would play the Easter Bunny in the spring. He loved making the holidays special for those around him. Ever the outdoorsman, he was an avid gardener and, while at Harrison’s; he helped maintain their garden as well as the flowers in their courtyard. He loved fishing as well. Nothing would stop him from throwing out a line. Even a wheelchair. One time he literally flew out of his chair and sat in the water in order to catch one; and he got it! His other great love was the movies. He loved Westerns but especially horror films. Most every night he could be found watching some classic horror movie. His favorite was “The Haunted” with Jeffrey DeMunn. He was down to earth, caring, lovingly grouch at times. Mark will forever be missed by his family at Harrison’s Crossing. Per Mark’s request, a Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
