Amelia Grace Pomfret, age 26, passed away at The Gibson Center for Hospice Care with family at her side. She was born on July 11, 2000 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Adam Pomfret and Jennifer (Lassiter) Pomfret. She graduated from Terre Haute South High School in 2019 and Indiana State University in 2024. She is a member at Trinity Lutheran Church. Amelia enjoyed reading, coloring, painting, writing poetry, crafting, travel and her cats. She was grateful for the chance to travel to Poland with Eva Kor and the Candles Holocaust Museum, and she was passionate about social justice issues and her involvement with the Stand Club at Terre Haute South.

She is survived by her father Adam, siblings Julia Pomfret and Aiden Pomfret, step mother Jody (Elslager) Pomfret, grandparents Donna Pomfret, George Pomfret (Beverly), Patti Bridges Miller (John), Jim and Judy Elslager, uncle Tim Pomfret (Margaret), uncle Chris Elslager (Trina), uncle Bobby Lassiter (Johanna), uncle Leroy Bridges (Katie), great aunts and uncles as well as several cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother Jennifer.

The service will be held at 2pm at Samaritan Funeral Home (2425 Wabash Ave.) on Saturday August 8th with Pastor Laura Applegate officiating. Visitation will be 11am-2pm prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Majestic Care Deming Park for their compassionate and skilled care, her ICU nurses at Union Hospital, and the hospice team at The Gibson Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Terre Haute South High School Stand Club or Marching Band.
