Amy Murphy, 56 of Olney, IL, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Amy was born July 18, 1969, in Olney, IL to parents, Norm Bissey and Dena Holmes Bissey. She Married David Murphy on July 29, 1990, and together they had two sons, Zachary Murphy and Brandon Murphy.

Amy loved spending time with her family in any and every way, visiting the beach, attending church at Free Methodist Church in Olney, IL, and cooking. She worked at Runyon Insurance Agency and the Chamber of Commerce in Olney, IL. Amy was the best friend anyone could ask for and a kind, compassionate mother.

She lived a faithful life under God, and her faith was the source of her strength.

Amy is survived by her husband, David Murphy; sons, Zachary Murphy and Brandon Murphy; mother, Dena Bissey; father, Norm Bissey; sister, Tammy Clodfelter; brother, Dale Bissey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Bissey; and her grandparents Rev. Kenneth Bissey and Ada Bell Bissey, Harold Holmes and Ruth Holmes.
