February 15, 1960 – June 14, 2024
Anita Diane (Ralston) Adams, 64, of Terre Haute, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024. She was born February 15, 1960 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Merle K. Ralston and Fern Levon (Mitchell) Ralston. Anita married Wesley Adams in 1985, who preceded her in death. Anita earned her associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees from Indiana State University, where she dedicated 38 years of service as an administrative assistant before retiring. She found great joy in working alongside the staff, faculty, and especially the students. Anita attended Gospel Tabernacle Church, and for many years served as a song leader, as led by the spirit of God, and talented piano player for the church. Her unwavering faith and love for God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, evident by the life she lived. She received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when she was a young child, which sustained her with peace, comfort and wisdom throughout her life. Anita was known for her genuine love for people. A social butterfly, she cherished every opportunity to engage in heartfelt conversations and share her wonderful sense of humor. Her presence brought true joy to those around her, leaving an indelible mark of warmth and kindness wherever she went. "My mother cherished spending time with her family and friends, forming lifelong bonds with those she befriended. She has many dear friends/sisters, some spanning over 35 years. Mom enjoyed long drives through the country and reminiscing about the ones she took with her parents when she was a child. Her favorite color was country blue. She loved reading and playing games, especially Yahtzee. And she made the best meatloaf in town!" - Katherine Adams Anita's legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter, as a mother, grandmother, and dear friend will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a community deeply grateful for the light she brought into their lives. May she rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and deeply missed. Anita is survived by her daughter, Katherine "Katie" Joanne Adams, of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Leah Sue Adams, Margaret Ann Adams, Larry Jacob "L.J" Duane Adams, Reagan Adams, and Mirakle Adams, all of Terre Haute; as well as many close friends, family, and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Jason Adams. Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Gospel Tabernacle Church, 2301 Hendricks Street, Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor Tony Corey officiating.
