Anita Rose (Poppe) Britton, 67, passed away on March 14, 2023.  She was born on July 25, 1955 to Fredrick Lee Williams Poppe and Lois Anita Rilenege.  Anita was born in Fort Knox, KY, but grew up in West Terre Haute, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin Britton Jr.; siblings Fredrick Eugene Poppe, Charles "Chuck" Poppe,William "Billy" Poppe, and Michael Poppe; granddaughter Samantha Wilkie.  Anita is survived by her children Tonya Pasko and Shawn Britton (Rebecca Mathis); grandchildren Jeffrey Wilkie Jr. (Cheyenne Lewsader, Chelsea Merritt (Logan Merritt), Kaitlin Walker, Carly Pasko (Darren Thrasher), Macy Pasko (Austin Catterson), Zachary Britton, Connor Britton, Haiden Britton, Grayson Britton; great-grandchildren Phoenix Lewsader, Lucas Merritt, Warren Walker, and Leo Merritt; siblings Dennis Poppe, Gerald Poppe, Robert "Bobby" Poppe, and Ricky Poppe, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Anita was a retired homemaker. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family.  She made it a point to attend all her grandchildren's sporting, academic, and social events.  She loved cooking, taking long drives, puzzles and card games, such as euchre and 500 rummy.  Anita's all-time favorite singer was Elvis Presley.  She was a grandma to all.  Many said Anita had a heart of gold.  She had a very uplifting spirit and could brighten anyone's day, just someone that you always wanted to talk to.  Anita loved doing things with her grandchildren; they would play 500 Rummy, listen to music, watch movies, cook together and go on rides with one another.  Visitation for Anita will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 2-4:00 PM with a memorial service starting at 4:00 PM.
