Berniece M. Brown, 96, of Evansville passed away May 30, 2019.  She was born July 5, 1922 in Terre Haute to Earnest L. Cooley and Edna M. Ferguson Cooley.  Berniece was a member of the American Legion #346 and the Moose Lodge #1009.  She loved to play bridge, pinochle and poker, working crosswords, gardening and ballroom dancing.  She also volunteered for many years at the Vigo County Public Library.

Berniece is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of more than 65 years Robert K. Brown, and daughter Linda L. Walker.  She is survived by her son Jeff R. Brown, grandson Christopher Lacefield, and great grandchildren Gavin Lacefield and Ava Lacefield.

Visitation will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.  with services to will follow visitation.  Reverend Jeff Lee will be officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
