Bertram L. Ladd of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021. He was born on March 22, 1954.

Bertram was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Cleon Edwards, and grandparents Gustava and Bruce Ladd.

Bert grew up in Terre Haute and attended Gerstmeyer and Terre Haute North High School.

In his younger days, Bert was nicknamed "Super Bad Bert Ladd", as he was an All-Star Basketball player who helped lead his teams to multiple championship games. He was also an avid sports fan.

Bert served on the Terre Haute Police Department, then later became a detective. Bertram was an active member of St John Missionary Baptist Church & found joy singing in the choir.

Bertram is survived by his three daughters, Alexandra McNeil (Maurice), Brandi Baker (Cory) and Samantha Lewis (Gary); brother Martin Edwards (Dietria); sisters Dorrie Edwards and Doretha Edwards; eight grandchildren, Sir Lander, China, Destiny, Princeton, Korea, Kyerstin, Kaydence, and Columbia; and aunts Lena Johnson (Herley) and Ora Martin (Hilbert).

He was loved and adored by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Grandview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be at the cemetery from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Online condolences may be made to www.samaritanfunerals.com.
