Billy Joe Roberts, 76, of Sullivan passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 16, 1944 in Sullivan County to Leonard Roberts and Dorothy Lambath Roberts.  Bill worked for Hoosier Energy as a maintenance mechanic retiring after 25 years of service.  He was an AQHA jockey for 20 years, a member of IBEW and a member of the Laborers' International.  Bill loved to ride horses, and enjoyed camping, traveling and beachcombing.  Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and his best friend and soulmate, Carol.  His son, daughter-in-law, and their children were the light of his life.

Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol Roberts, son Tim Roberts (Kara), grandchildren Taylor Roberts, and Reece Roberts, sisters Wilma McKain and Judy Phegley (Bill Sam), brother Jerry Roberts (Lilly) and Bob Roberts (Cathy), brother-in-law Pete Pitts, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Pitts, and brother-in-law Kenneth McKain.
