Carissa Lynn (Piland) McLain, 55, passed away on November 17, 2022 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Carissa was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed taking road trips and seeing new places. She loved spending summers at the lake and camping.  Carissa loved coffee; you could always find her with a hot cup of coffee in her hands.

She was born February 25, 1967 to Matie Ferge and James Piland,

Carissa is survived by her mother Matie Day and step-father David Day; her children Bailey Piland, Christopher Harshaw, John Harshaw, Patricia Bagget (Cory), Paul Harshaw, and Amber Duncan (Jackson); grandchildren Josie, Serafine, Kaylynn, Dallas, Jordan, RayLyn, Shyver, Madison, Carmen, Spencer, and Dakota; siblings Diana Leohr (Anthony), Darrell Wheeler (Rene), Mari Torbert (Matt), and David Piland.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Piland, grandparents Dean and Geneva Ferge, grandparents Lawrence and Myrtle Piland, aunts Barbara McLendon and Bonny Perry, uncle Don Ferge, and cousin Brion Ferge.
