Carla J. Wilmes, 68, passed away October 3, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15, 1955 in Clinton to Joe Barushak and Vivian (Myers) Barushak. She graduated from Clinton High School and worked for Data Label for many years. Carla was an excellent cook and a very skilled artist. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and she loved reading and music.

She is survived by her husband Mark Wilmes, daughters Christina Smith (Jamie), Andra White (Donnie), and Halie Carnes; son Scott Wilmes, brothers Fred Barushak and Bob Barushak, sister Janet Smith, grandchildren Jessica Williams, Taylor Cook, Connor Smith, Maelyn White, Dutton Fisher, Barrett Carnes, and Lenny Carnes; and great-grandchildren McKenna Cook, Kaysen Cook, Jaxton Loshbaugh, and Zyair Williams.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother John Barushak, and sister Joann Barushak.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a late date. Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association in Carla's memory.
