Carol Schnurpel, 85, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Carol was born November 19, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Harry and Mary Margaret Kendall.

Carol was born in her family home on Harding Avenue in Terre Haute, where she was raised. She attended Sarah Scott Junior High School and went on to attend Wiley High School. Carol had several jobs early in her life, working at The Goody Bar Drive-In and the Glass Factory, where she checked the paint job on Pepsi bottles. She also worked at Hooks Drug Store and the Columbia Tape Plant, where she made 8 Track Tapes. However, her favorite job was being a mom. Carol loved traveling throughout Europe while her husband Chuck was stationed in Germany while serving in the United States Air Force.

In retirement, Carol enjoyed traveling with Chuck, spending summers in Alaska and winters at the "Tip O' Texas" in Parr, Texas. She was a shuffleboard champion and never turned down an opportunity to dance.

Carol is survived by her children Barbara Robbins (Chuck), William Yates (Tracy), and Kendall Schnurpel (Jami); her stepchildren, Charles Schnurpel (Nancy) and Steven Schnurpel (Diana); 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by Charles, her husband and love of her life, her parents Harry and Mary Margaret; two sisters, Jean (Paul) and Ruth (Charles); and three brothers, Bob (Marge), Harry, Jr., Jack (Rita), and Charlie (Norma); daughter Debra (Michael) and stepson Kevin.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Samaritan Funeral Home (2425 Wabash, Terre Haute) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m.
