Carolyn J Kluesner Hughes, 82, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Carolyn was born on June 14, 1941, in Libertyville, IN to Joseph and Adeline (Riley) Kluesner. Carolyn married Alfred Hughes on October 16, 1998. They would have celebrated 25 years together.

Carolyn was a 1959 graduate of Arcola High School in Illinois.

Carolyn and her husband Al were saved in the Methodist Church in Mississippi. Carolyn and her husband traveled to many places through the years; Al always said that they had "Many Happy Trails together".

She is survived by her husband Al; her son, Storm Hatfill and his daughter Savannah Hatfill; her daughter; Deanne Barnes (Michael), also 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren (out of state); sisters, Linda Walters and Shirley Cain (Bill), and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; son Scott Hatfield; siblings; Vandetta Stewart and husband, Frank Kluesner and wife, Ted Kluesner, Diana Schumacher; nephew, Rusty Sweitzer; brother-in-law, Chuck Walters; and extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Monday October 16, 2023 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Samaritan Funeral Home with a service to follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Art Orndorf officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences can be made at www.samaritanfunerals.com
