Carolyn Sue Merritt, 82, of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Terre Haute on January 31, 1944, to John Monroe Voll and S. Elizabeth Shelburne Voll. Sue was a long-time member of the Purdue Extension Home Economics Club and their past President’s Club. She loved fishing, crafting, collecting lighthouses, and she traveled to all 50 states. Sue loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling everywhere, especially to where there were lighthouses. She also traveled to many state and national parks with her children and grandchildren. Sue attended every activity and event that her grandchildren were a part of. She will be sadly missed by those that loved her.

She is survived by her children Mark Merritt (Kristin), Tracy Coleman (Gary), and George Merritt (Laura), grandchildren Connor Coleman, Madason Londo, Zane Merritt, Kassandra Merritt, Zander Merritt, Morgan Merritt, and Karolyn Merritt, and one great-grandson Raiden Londo. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Tommy Merritt and her son John A. Merritt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Samaritan Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Voll and Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate.
