Carvel Leon Kittle, 81, formerly of Terre Haute passed away Sunday December 20, 2015 in ManorCare at Prestwick in Avon, IN. He had been employed in Terre Haute at Quaker Maid, Hercules, Inc. and Applied Extrusion Technologies (AET) where he retired from in 1996. He was born March 25, 1934 in Terre Haute to Ervin Tennis Kittle and Myrtle Ann (Mishler) Kittle. Carvel is survived by a son, Keith Allen Kittle and his wife Maureen of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Carla Jean Gossett and her husband Tim of Avon, IN; a granddaughter, Kristi Lynn Schou and husband Jeff of Oviedo, FL and a great granddaughter, Savannah Jacqueline Schou of Oviedo, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, whom he married November 29, 1953, Jacqueline "Jackie" Jean (Marshino) Kittle and who died in 2001; his parents; his sisters, Irma Rose Munshower and Melvina Fern Brenton, and his faithful canine companions, Ginger and Tifton "Tiffy". Carvel was a life-long Indy 500 and NASCAR race fan. He was happiest when surrounded by family, especially during the holidays.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. with a memorial service to follow at
