Obituary

Channon Leigh Brown was born April 30, 1989, in Terre Haute, Indiana as the third and youngest child of Charles and Scotia Brown.  Channon's was a "Life well loved" before departing on Thursday, July 7, 2022. As the baby of the family, Channon prided herself on reminding her family that "she was the favorite!"  Her sweet spirit always moved her to make sure others needs were met.  With a heart fully committed to expressing her love and caring for those in her life, Channon was indeed everyone's favorite!

A member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Channon confessed her belief in Christ at an early age.  Channon was an active member of the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF)and the youth choir.  Channon worked with St. Paul's Soup kitchen and Thanksgiving Basket giveaways.

Channon was a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School.  She received her bachelor's degree in Criminology from Indiana State University.  She went on to receive her master's degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana State University.

Channon was committed to advancing educational opportunities in her role as Academic Advisor at Ivy Tech Community College. Understanding that while academic advising was a major part of her responsibilities, Channon worked hard to provide support and foster relationships with those students she supervised.  She was committed to their success.

Channon loved painting, decorating, photography, cooking and spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed buying and repurposing antiques.  Her passion for gifting others with her beautiful floral designs brightened our spirits.  Channon had a smile that would light up the room when she entered.  Channon was funny, silly, insightful and caring.

Channon is survived by many, who loved her dearly; her parents, Charles E. and Scotia Brown, her brother, Charles A. (Sister-in-love, Amy); her sister, Camille Wallace; nephews, Gavin Wallace and Charles T. Brown; nieces, Gracynn Wallace and Nora Brown, grandparents, Melvin and Pauline Thomas, Jeanna Thomas; great-aunts, aunts, great-uncles, uncles and a host of cousins, friends and colleagues.

If you knew Channon, you know that she believed in the best in others. She believed in family, faith, loyalty, love and relationships.  Though her passing has left a void in our hearts, for the time she was with us, we will forever be thankful.  We will cherish her memory.
