Charles O Smith, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, Oct 15, 2016, in Union Hospital. He was born June 6, 1929, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Orval Smith and Lilly (Pancake) Smith. Charles worked in Insurance for National Life and Accident, he also work as a Culligan Man for 20 years. He was a member at Centeary Methodist Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Martha Caton (Larry) He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy L Smith; his sister, Mary Marshall (Mark); three sons, Steve (Jan) Smith, Randy (Marsha) Smith, and Jery (Denise) Smith; his grandchildren Matt (Megan), Kyle, Jeff, Eric (Sara), Lauren, Andrea-A.J (Mike) Nicoson, and Lynsee; two great grandchildren, Emma and max Nicoson. Services will be held at 11 a.m Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery; Reverend Mel Camp will be officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church..
