Charles Smith, 74, of Marshall IN passed away in his home surrounded by family on September 28, 2018.  He was born on July 7, 1944 to Charles David Smith and Dorothy Irene Smith.  He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Larry Smith. Charles is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joyce Ann (Lenover) Smith; four sons, Chuckie  Smith, David Smith, Matt Smith, and Mark Smith; three daughters, Dottie Hall, Renie Duke, and Stephanie Vanatti; his sister Darlena Gains; Brothers, Dennis Smith and Terry Smith; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  Charles was retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections after 31 years.  He was a member of the Parke County F.O.P. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Washington Redskins. Most of all Charles enjoyed spending time with family.  Per Charles wishes cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be held for Charles Smith on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Marshall Federated Church, 105 N Main St, Marshall, IN 47859, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
