Claude Wilson Anderson III, 68, passed away at Union Hospital on October 12, 2021, after a 14 year battle with Scleromyxedema.

Claude was born on July 30, 1953 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Claude attended California Institute of Technology for his undergraduate degree, and University of Illinois for his doctorate. He taught at Wilkes University for 6 years. He then obtained a second master's degree from Indiana University, after which he moved to Terre Haute with his family where he began teaching at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He was a passionate and beloved educator at Rose-Hulman for 33 years, driven to provide his students with knowledge and expertise that would lead them to excellence and success.

Claude was a member of World Gospel Church where he enjoyed being part of the missions program and serving in other ways over the years. He was a strong believer who was not afraid to share his faith in Jesus with others.

Claude enjoyed a variety of games including crossword puzzles, boggle, chess and scrabble. He had an intellectual sense of humor that blended dad jokes with puns.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Claude W. Anderson Jr. and Virginia Anderson.

Claude is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane Anderson; their 9 children, Sharon (Matt) Davis, Rachel (Craig) Agapie, William (Julianne) Anderson, Joel (Hannah) Anderson, Melody Anderson, Esther Anderson, Abigail (Micah) Carlson, Rebekah Anderson, and John Anderson; their 14 grandchildren, and his sister, Vicki Anderson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16th at 2:00 pm at World Gospel Church (900 Gardendale Rd, Terre Haute, IN 47803).
