Connie Jean Oxby, 82 of Clay City went to her Heavenly home on June 15, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Connie was born to Louis and Jean Coale on November 17, 1943 in Oakland City, IN. She met the love of her life John Oxby whom she married on August 1, 1963. Together they raised 3 children. Becky Oxby of Clay City (Gayla Hubbard) Brenda Hayden of Clay City and John Brian Oxby.

In Connie's early years she enjoyed sewing, canning and cooking. Connie and John were foster parents to many babies and children through the years. Later in life Connie enjoyed working at Bethesda Gardens in Terre Haute for 5 years. Her life was always focused on her children then her love blossomed when her grandchildren and great grandchildren came into her life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 2 pm at North Union United Methodist Church 6977 West State Road 42, Brazil, IN 47834
