Curtis "Curt" W. Smith passed away at home from natural causes on the evening of September 13, 2023, with his wife of 62 years, Rita, at his side. Curt was born in Clinton, Indiana. He grew up and spent his entire life in the Terre Haute area. He graduated from Glenn High School in 1953. He served in the US Army for 2 years receiving an honorable discharge. Curt drove a truck for Hulman & Company for 44 years and then for FedEx for 15 years. When he wasn't working, he loved being outside especially mowing the lawn or tinkering with his tools in the garage. Above all, he was an incredibly decent and kind man. He loved his wife, his family, his friends, and his black labs.

He leaves behind his wife Rita, daughter Debbie (Robert), sons Ty (Stacey) and Todd (Alyse), sister Wilma, brothers Warren (Becky) and Alan (late wife Linda), 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, and countless friends. There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, September 24th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Seelyville Town Hall.
