Daniel M. Brooks, 66, of Farmersburg passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024.  He was born July 25, 1957, in Council Grove, Kansas to Donald Brooks and Gertie Musgrove Brooks.  Daniel enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing.  Being outdoors and taking in the beauty of nature was a hobby for him and Tammy.  He was a skilled sailor and owned a sailboat as well as a ski boat at one time.  Daniel enjoyed woodworking and mechanics in general.  Fixing things and taking them apart to see their working and reassembling was fascinating to him.  He worked for the Morris County Highway Department for many years and worked in construction.  Daniel was a beloved husband, brother, and uncle.  He will be missed by many.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 46 years, Tammy Brooks, sisters Doris Crone (Richard), Donna Doyle (Bill), Deborah Porter, and Donita Sue Blair, several nieces and nephews, his loyal dog Ruby, cat Ballerina, and Smokie the horse.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers- in- law Gregory Porter and Ted Blair.

Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gibson Hospice for the love and care provided to Daniel.  In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Gibson Hospice and Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
