Darla M. Surber, 82, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday January 26, 2023, in her residence. She was retired from Woodburn Printing. Darla was born January 10, 1941, in Terre Haute to James and Gertrude (Halderman) Denny. She is survived by her son, Gene Dooley; daughter in law, Shala Ingle; sisters, Denise Swinefurth, Denna Baker, and Arlouine; grandchildren, Seth Meads (Kaitlyn Davidson), Cameron Meads, Daniel Dooley, and Hannah Ketner (Garrett Trout); two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Surber; daughter, Bobbie Jo Ketner; sisters, Etta Hoopingarner, Patricia McCullough, and Lucille Chapman and brothers, James Denny, Harley Denny, and Jeff Denny. Darla was a selfless woman who put everyone else's needs before hers and will be greatly missed by her family. Visitation will be Monday January 30, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Samaritan Funeral Home with funeral services on Tuesday January 31, 2023, at 10:00 am in the funeral home.
