Darryl Audwin Burris was born on April 6, 1964 and died on March 11, 2023 at 58 years old. He was born in Terre Haute and met the love of his life Michelle (Mickie) when living in Bradenton Florida. He lived in Indiana most of his life, had three beautiful children, and is a proud grandfather of many grandchildren. He was a son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He was the owner of a lawn maintenance business for 35 years and worked hard every day of his life. One of his favorite things to do was to be outside with his grandkids and he enjoyed feeding the wild birds around his home.

Darryl is survived by his parents Michael and Joan Burris, his uncle Jim Webster, his aunt Jodi Heyns (Bill), his wife Michelle Burris, his children Aaron Nickols, Kimberly "Nan" Smith (Logan), Ashlee "Beetle" Burris, Terin Patrick (John and Silas), and Hilary Williams (Harper), his nephews Del Brier, Michael Brier (Maddie and Lenna), Wesly Brier, Noah Brier (Carly), Matthew Brier (Britany), his grandchildren Mason Nickols, Blakely, Lucas, and Jameson Smith, and his cousins Mindy Lewellyn (John), Pam Webster, and Justin Nicoson (Courtney).

He is predeceased by grandparents Herman and Mary Kathleen Webster, and Audi and Rae Burris, his uncle John Webster (Jodie), his sister Kimberly "Kimmie" Burris, his nephews Michael "Dean" Brier, Matthew "Dwayne" Brier, James Brier, and his grandson Michael O'shea Nickols.

Services will be held at Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47807. Visitation with family and friends will be on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 11:00-1:00, service at 1:00. A portion of the donations will be sent to the Humane Society of Terre Haute in his honor.  Donations can also be made to help research Cerebral Palsy, Apraxia, or Autism in honor of Darryl's grandchildren.
