David Eugene
Apfel
November 3, 1947 – December 3, 2025
David Eugene "Green Apple" Apfel, 78, of Terre Haute gained his angel wings on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, with his loved ones at his side. He was born November 3, 1947, in Rosedale, Indiana to Antony and Mildred Neely Apfel.

Case, Canteen, Westfield Steel, Vigo County School Corporation, Vigo County Parks Department, Reynolds Machine Shop, Edington Trash Service, and Royal Oaks. He touched so many lives throughout his personal and professional life. Dave was loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 26 years, Rita; sister El Frieda Jackson (George), brother Tony Apfel (Betty), daughter Michelle Godbey (Dwayne) of Terre Haute; Michael Apfel (Jalantha) of Terre Haute; bonus daughters Samantha Smith (Jimmy) and Viola Fisher (Webb) all of Terre Haute; grandchildren Nathan Harney, Clifford Godbey (Libby), Kimberly Duvall (Brandon), Kody Apfel (Mystique), Katelynn Apfel, Austin Thiessen, Macey Miller, Thomas Brenton (Courtney), Kaylee Brenton, Ronda Brenton, Webb Fisher, Jr., William Fisher, Karyssa Burton (Tyler), Estel Godbey (Stacey); great grandchildren Douglas, Emilia, Lucas, Hunter, Addison, Spencer, Ellie, Robert, Emma, Amiah, Beverleigh, Kylo, Bryce, Scarlett, Dominic, Evie, Fiora, Haydon, Sabriael, Claira, and Creed. David was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Edith, Phyllis, and Martha, and a granddaughter Kelsey Apfel.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, at Samaritan Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Service and family tribute will begin at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving care and support given to David and his family.
