David W. Persinger, 61, of Terre Haute passed away Friday March 17, 2017 at 2:25 am in his residence surround by family. David had worked for Conrail for 25 years and spent many years as the Secretary of BMWE (Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Union. David was born February 4, 1956 in Terre Haute to David Albert Persinger and Katherine (Hammond) Persinger. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda (Ellis) Persinger; a daughter, Heather Persinger of Terre Haute; a son, Matthew David Persinger and wife Sabrina of Kansas City, MO; and a cousin, Rick Kirby, who was like a brother to David. As per David's request, cremation is scheduled with a private family memorial service at a later date. Samaritan Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
