David R. Tucker, affectionately known to so many as “Tucker,” passed away peacefully in his home on September 3, 2026, at the age of 73. He is now with his Lord and Savior.

Tucker was born on March 9, 1953, in Paris IL, where he grew up. He later moved to West Terre Haute, IN where he graduated from West Vigo High School in 1971. He went on to graduate from Indiana State University as a Registered Nurse, beginning a career in healthcare that would become an important part of his life and legacy.

Tucker was one of three sons born to Roy Stanford Tucker and Betty Jo Ludington Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers.

Tucker was a member of Trinity Church and leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, laughter, and countless memories shared with the people who were fortunate enough to know him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tracy; his daughters, Stephanie(Ryan), Amber(Chris) and Amanda, his sons, Aaron(Shawnee), Jordan(Lacy), and Patrick. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy and meaning to his life. He is also survived by many cousins, and several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory. Tucker is also survived by his best friend, Travis whose friendship was a special and lasting part of his life, as well as his beloved dog and special companion, Lucky dog.

Tucker dedicated many years of his life to the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse. Through his years of caring for others, he became a familiar and trusted face to countless people. It was hard to find someone who didn’t know “Tucker.” His caring nature, personality, and ability to make people feel comfortable left an impression on many lives. Outside of his career, Tucker had a lifelong passion for pool, playing for more than 60 years. Pool was more than just a game to him—it was a part of his life, a place where friendships were made, stories were shared, and memories were created. Anyone who knew Tucker likely has a story involving a pool table, a good conversation, or a little friendly competition.

Tucker will be remembered not only for the work he did and the people he helped, but for the person he was—a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on through the people he loved, the lives he touched, and the stories that will continue to be told for years to come.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be no formal services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
