Dean Anthony Benefiel, Sr., 55 of Terre Haute passed away in his residence on June 26, 2018.  He was born on May 11,1963 in North Dakota to Jack Nicholas Benefiel and Winifred Amy (Berry) Benefiel.  Dean worked as a correctional officer, was a member of Grace Chapel of Brazil, enjoyed watching his favorite shows Andy Griffith and M.A.S.H., he was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, the New York Yankees, and the Washington Red Skins and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons; Tony Benefiel (Amanda Marie Wassberg) and Ryan Benefiel; his companion of 14 years, Melissa Robertson, step-daughter Courtney Hill, step-son Jay Gilliam, grandchildren; Ezra Benefiel, Isaac Fields and Tele Marie Benefiel, step-grandchildren; Talon Hill, Brody Hill, Olivia Gilliam and Elizabeth Gilliam.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
