Dixie Lee Thompson, 67, of Shelburn, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1959, in Danville, Illinois to Franklin Osborne and Wilma Stark Osborne. Dixie married Aloysius Thompson on March 20, 1976. She was a “professional shopper”. And once she couldn’t go to the stores she figured out how to shop online. She enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets that were gifted to people. Dixie loved being with her family, and most recently her great grandson Gabriel. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Aloysius “Al” Thompson, daughter Amanda Henschen (Jason), grandsons Zack, Jacob (Ali Dandridge), Cain, and Seth, great grandson Gabriel, brother Claude Osborne (Pauline) and sister Faye Claudette Cauley (Wayne), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Wilma, brothers Dale E. Osborne, Gerald Osborne, and Richard “Dick” Osborne, sisters Wilma Lagrad and Judy Phillips.

Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
