Doris Marie (Norris) Adkins, 74 of Terre Haute, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 5:40 PM at Union Hospital. She was born in West Terre Haute on December 7, 1940 to Estel Norris and Mary J. Parks Norris. She graduated from Honey Creek High School. Doris loved talking on the CB radio, her CB handle was Raggedy Ann, and she loved spending time with her grandkids, and most recently, her great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, a very special father, Oliver Kylander who raised her from the age of 1 year, and her brother Jimmie Norris. She is survived by her husband Ray Dean Adkins, daughters Mary Harvey (husband Chuck), Becky Denbo, and Billie Anderson (husband John). Also surviving are her brothers Herman Norris, John Norris (wife Gayla), and Fred Kylander (wife Lou). In addition, she is survived by grandchildren; Jamie Lee, Melissa Rader, Amanda Wenk, Krystal Norris, Angel Booker, Heather Campbell, Bill Cox, and John Cox, as well as several great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has been chosen, with memorial services at Father's Glory Ministries at 12565 Pimento Circle, Terre Haute from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, December 12. A candlelight vigil will be held at Fairbanks Park from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on December 7th. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Samaritan Funeral Home, in her memory, to help with expenses.
