Doris Jean (West) Rice, 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. She was born to Ed West and Lovie West on April 6, 1942 in Providence, Kentucky. Doris married the love of her life, James Rice, on August 1, 1963.

Doris enjoyed gardening and watching soap operas. She also loved to drive in her car. Doris’ biggest passion was cooking.

Doris is preceded in death by both of her parents; and her siblings, Margie McConnell, Etta Montgomery, and Otis Price.

Doris is survived by her loving husband; daughter, Donna J. Rice; special son, James E. Rice; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
