Obituary

Esther Elizabeth Emory, 87, of Clay City, passed away Saturday June 18, 2022 at 12:11 am in Union Hospital. She retired after almost 40 years at Union Hospital as a CNA. Esther was born April 20, 1935 in Kentland, Indiana to Charles and Anna (Spangle) Crisler. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret Emory Steadman (Jerry); sons, Randall Joe Emory and Thomas James Emory; sister, Barbara Ann Crisler Remick (George); sister-in-law, Alma Emory Whitsit and Wanda Laycock Emory; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild on the way and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Earl Emory, who died December 25, 2011; daughters, Vicki Kay Emory Willsey (Jack) and Linda Sue Emory Walls; son, Terry Lee Emory and twin brothers, Roy John Crisler and Ray John Crisler. Esther was a member of Faith Southern Baptist Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the 'Blue Hair Gang" in Clay City. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. in Faith Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com
