Evelyn Cowden Thompson, 95 of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:40 AM on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Kindred Southwood Transitional Care. She was born in Sullivan, IN on December 5, 1921 to Ezra Cowden and Lena Harlow Cowden. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Thompson, and a daughter Patricia Pemberton. She is survived by four daughters: Mary Reed, Sharon Gritten, Rebecca Stevens, and Deborah Thompson, as well as 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Evelyn had previously attended United Brethren Church and was a member of Harding Ave. Methodist Church, where she played the piano. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren, loved cats, and her Church was her life. Graveside services will be held at Grandview Cemetery on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 12 Noon, will Rev. Bill Henry officiating.
