Gary H. Payton, 70, of Terre Haute passed away at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care on Friday, October 26, 2018.  He was born September 27, 1948 in Bloomington, Indiana to Freddy H. Payton and Melinda Philpott Payton.  Gary worked as a metal worker at Gartland Foundry.  He loved motorcycle riding.  Gary was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #291.

He is survived by his wife Frieda (Cook) Payton of 47 years, daughters; Tammy Payton and Tina Payton, son John Payton (April), grandchildren Troy Gulley and Brooklyn Winning, sister Kimberly Payton, nieces; Donna Payton and Bonnie Hudson (Steve), great nieces Skyler and Madison, and several nieces and nephews.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edwin Payton and sister-in-law Sue Payton.
