Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce that Grant Noble Smith, 41, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away peacefully, with his mother by his side on Tuesday February 04, 2025.  Born on January 21st 1984, in Greenfield, Indiana, Grant was an alumnus of Indiana State University where he earned his Bachelor Of Science and Master's degree in Human Resources.  Grant was a devoted and highly regarded brother of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, serving as Social Chair, Pledge Educator, and Sergeant-at-Arms. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his chapter, as he also dedicated two years to the IFC Council and proudly represented Indiana State University as a Sycamore Ambassador. His passion for mentorship was evident in the way he guided his little brothers in Phi Kappa Psi and served as a mentor and guiding light to many of the people in his life.  Grant was a loyal friend, a selfless leader, and a man who lived his life unapologetically, with sincerity and integrity.  His time on Earth impacted countless lives, who share great joy in the memories of him, his advice that he gave and his infectious laugh that will be missed beyond measure.  Survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Smith, as well as beloved friends and family, Grant leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and friendship that will always be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him.  The world may never know a bigger Indianapolis Colts, IU Hoosiers or Notre Dame fan, than Grant Smith.  He dedicated the same love and passion that he gave to us all, to the teams that he loved to cheer for. Grant was a huge fan of music and the Indianapolis 500, spending his summer nights at concert venues and the race, making lifelong memories with those he left behind.  Respectfully, there will be no funeral services, honoring Grant's wishes.  A small celebration of life will be held by his closest friends and family to share our fondest memories of him and celebrate Grant's legacy.
