Helen Beal, 94, of Terre Haute, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. She was born on April 23, 1924, in Terre Haute to Edward Bundy and Stella (Gardiner) Bundy.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Mary Smith and her three brothers, Edward, Walter, Dick and Robert Bundy; and her husband, Ralph.

She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1942 and later married Ralph Beal on March 20, 1943. The two made a home here in Terre Haute and Helen cared for her three young children for several years before entering the workforce. She began working at Pillsbury in Seelyville, Ind., and later with Indiana State University's maintenance division.

She was a loving mother, as exemplified by her service as a Cub and Boy Scout troop leader alongside her husband. She was also the best room mother Warren Elementary School had ever seen. After retirement from Indiana State University, Helen volunteered at Union Hospital in their mail room and continued to care for her community. She was a lifelong resident of Terre Haute.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Jan Croft, and her two sons, Joseph Beal and Jon (Mary Ann) Beal; her 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Private services have been scheduled with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
