DeGlandon

August 24, 1976 – August 20, 2026

Ishmael “Ish” DeGlandon, 49, was born on August 24, 1976, in Columbus, Indiana, to Steve DeGlandon and Princess Jones (Brumley). On August 20, 2026, Ishmael departed this earth in Ellettsville, Indiana.

Ishmael passed away doing what he loved most, riding his Harley. He loved the freedom of being on the open road and the peace that his wind therapy brought him .He loved riding with his friends and customizing his bikes. Riding was one of his greatest passions, but it was only one of the many things that made Ish the incredible man he was.

Above all else, Ishmael loved his family. He treasured every moment spent with them, from road trips and adventures to zoo and park trips with his grandchildren and finding the perfect fishing hole. He spent every second he could with his grandbabies—playing with them, spoiling them, teaching them, and creating endless memories they will carry with them forever. He absolutely loved being a G-Pa. He took great pride in his children and his grandchildren. You would always catch him talking and bragging on them all the time.

Ishmael worked in construction throughout his life, and he was truly the best at what he did. He had a gift for building and fixing just about anything and everything. There was rarely a project he couldn’t figure out. He was always keeping himself busy, whether he was working around the house, tackling a project, or helping someone else . If someone needed a helping hand, he was there. He gave his time, his knowledge, and his heart freely to the people around him.

For the past nine years, Ishmael also worked on the weekend shift at Boston Scientific, where he had the opportunity to meet and work alongside many wonderful people who became an important part of his life.

Nineteen years ago, Ishmael and Courtney began their lives together. From the very beginning, it was clear that they were meant to be. Together, they raised six amazing children and walked through every season of life side by side. They supported one another through the good times, the difficult times, the adventures, and everything in between. They built a bond and a life together that most people only dream of .Ish and Courtney were truly two people who were one—extensions of each other. If one couldn’t do something, the other could. They were best friends, soulmates, partners, and each other’s greatest source of love and support.

Ish would light up the moment Courtney walked into a room. The love and care they shared was undeniable. You could see it in their eyes when they looked at one another. They shared a love for traveling, adventure, and experiencing life together. Over the years, they visited some beautiful places and created countless special memories. Those adventures and memories are treasures that Courtney will carry in her heart forever.

Ishmael is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Courtney DeGlandon; his six children: Lance (Alexis), Taylor, Chandler (Kirsten), Ashlynn, Jakob, and Noriah; his six grandchildren, whom he adored beyond words: Finnigan, Dominga, Sebastian, Haley, Desmond, and Chastin; his mother, Princess Jones; his brothers, Josh (Amy), Robby (Sandy), and Bobby (Sarah); and his sister, Tabetha (Jackson).

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Jones; his father-in-law, Dean Brault; and his beloved grandson, Lincoln Magno.
