James Robert Benton Watson, Sr.,34, of Brazil, Indiana passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born to James C. Watson and Deanna Newport on October 8, 1991 in Terre Haute.

James loved anime and enjoyed watching it. Some of his favorites included One Piece, Dragonball Z, Hazbin Hotel, and Pokemon. James also was a video gamer, often beating new games within hours. He was an active person and always faced things head on. James lived his life on his own terms, not worrying about the consequences. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and would do anything for the ones he loved. James was the best son that a mother could have asked for.

James is preceded in death by his father, James C. Watson.

James is survived by his mother, Deanna Newport; father, Shane Jones; sons, Shane Watson, J.J. Watson, and Wyatt Watson; daughters, Melly Mustard and Scarlette Christian; sister, Debbie Jones; brothers, John Clark (Felicia Moore), Andrew Atkinson, and Blake Walker; Aunt Stacey Twigg (Uriah), Aunt Pamala Atterson, Aunt Roseanne Waggle (Larry), and grandmother, Janie Elder; special friend, Brittany McDaniels; and his faithful dog companion, Chaos.  James will be forever missed by all his family and friends.
