July 8, 1950 – May 3, 2023
James (Jimmy) Howard Calvin, 72, of Perrysville, IN passed away on May 3rd after a long battle with cancer. James was a peaceful soul and liked to socialize with his friends, he never left them wondering what was on his mind. He enjoyed gardening, horticulture, smoking ribs, listening to rock and roll music, raising Dexter cattle, reading, and being outside. In his formative years, he spent a lot of time riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, watching races, and traveling across the country. Most of all, James loved spending time around his family. Surviving family members including his wife - Robin Calvin (Gilbert), his two daughters - Abigail Calvin and Anastasia (Seth) Hunt, his son - Carson Calvin, and his grandsons - Arlo and Devin Hunt. Other surviving family members include his sisters - Laura (Bill) McKelvey, Susan (John) McGilvrey, Bertha Rogers, his sister in law - Pat Calvin, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his mother - Susan Caralina Calvin (Edenburn), his father - William Paul Calvin, his brothers - Edward Calvin, John Calvin, and William Paul Calvin Jr., his sister in law - Shirley Calvin, and his nephew Wally Meeker.
James Calvin was a member of the Coal Branch church. He enjoyed listening to gospel and rejoicing in the love of Jesus with his congregation. His pastor and friend, Tracy Taulman, will be presiding a celebration of life at the Coal Branch Church for James on Friday, June 2nd.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grand-father, helpful neighbor, funny friend, uncle, and brother. His sense of humor and robust laugh will be missed by many.
