James Edward Davis, 73, of Terre Haute passed away Friday October 4, 2019 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He retired from GTE. He was born August 24, 1946 in Albany, KY to John Davis and Gertrude (McAffrey) Davis. He is survived by daughters, Angela Burch (Matt) and Wendy Luzadder (Mike); son, Jaben Davis (Jenny); grandchildren, Erin Robertson, Dustin Luzadder, Catlin Shaw, Mason Burch, Kennedy Davis, and Parker Davis; great-grandchildren, Alex Robertson, Jada Robertson, and Kaden Burgess and the mother of his children, Liz Bennett and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jessie Davis and Roy Davis and the mother of his daughter, Sue Meeks. James was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He also enjoyed collecting things. No services are scheduled. Samaritan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
