James "Jamie" Dennis Trout II, 58, of Terre Haute lost his months-long battle with lung cancer on December 15, 2023. He was born November 28, 1965 in Terre Haute to James Trout and Diane Jenkins-Purcell. Jamie is survived by his girlfriend and partner of 24 years, Mika Yocum; his children, Dustin Fox (Jessica), Christina Spivey (Tyler), Jamie Poore, and Austin Matherly (Kelsi); and grandchildren, Gabriel Wyndham, Cason Caldwell, Lizah Streeter, Sammy and Noah Fox, and Mason and Riley Matherly. He is also survived by his mother Diane, sister Danielle Trout, and brother Shawn Paulin (Jessica).

Jamie spent several years working in construction as a talented roofing and siding foreman before establishing his own popular music and karaoke business, Jamie's Jammin' Karaoke. He was a sought-after high school and middle-school official. He officiated many sports, but was especially sought after as a baseball umpire. He received several awards for his skill and stamina including iron man awards for officiating dozens of baseball games in a single weekend. Jamie had lifelong passions for bass fishing, motorcycles, and playing pool. For many years he was considered one of the best pool players in the Wabash Valley. In recent years he had established his own YouTube channel that documented his fishing exploits. His fishing buddies became unwitting co-stars in many of his videos. He continued fishing up until his very last days.

His family is planning a celebration of life that will take place in the spring. A future date and time will be shared on his Facebook page.
