James Arthur Labaume, 71, of Brazil, Indiana passed away in his home on Friday, May 8, 2026. He was born on September 1, 1954 in Lincoln, Illinois. James worked as a mechanic and loved working on cars and lawn mowers. He also loved to go fishing. James was an excellent cook. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers, Richard Labaume and Robbie Labaume.

James is survived by his son, Travis Labaume; daughters, Amanda Swenson and Britney Labaume (Devon Dash); brothers, Woody Labaume, Willy Labaume, and Johnny Labaume; sisters, Mary Timberman, Katie, and Arlene; grandchildren, Trinity, Serenity, Harlee, Asher, Ryver, and Emmett; and his beloved cat companion, Blue.
