James Willford Mayle, II, died on June 9, 2024, with his family surrounding him. He was born on December 23, 1948, to Harry and Genevieve (Tucker) Mayle of Harmony. Jim had been in the care of Hospice for several weeks.
Jim graduated from Van Buren High School in 1966. He attended Indiana State University and graduated in 1970 with a BS in Industrial Arts/Mechanical Engineering. He taught for a while in Plainfield. He remarried in 1982 to Wanda Keith. They each had children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. After teaching, he then began a career as a manager with Electrolux until 1989. They later moved to Florida where he was sales manager for Daytona News Journal until retirement in 2015. They returned to Spencer, and in 2019 to Greencastle where he resided until his death.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jonevieve Fletcher (Jim), Harriet Williams (Willard), and his brother Harry Mayle, Jr. (Juanita "Nita").
Besides his wife Wanda, he is survived by two sons, Jeff Mayle (Norma), Brent Mayle (Angela), and daughter Branda Wagner (Todd), and his sister Esther Wilson (Terry). Also, as mentioned, he had several grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved and adored, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was entrusted to Samaritan Funeral Home. He did not want a service, but for others to remember him as he grew up and went to school and college. He loved hunting and fishing and has continued his love and animals and birds, especially cardinals. Please think of Jim as you remember him when you were around him. The family requests donations in remembrance of Jim be made to Intrepid Hospice, 2901 Ohio Blvd., Suite 210-2, Terre Haute, IN 47803.
