James Michael Austin, 60, of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2022. Mike was born on September 29, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bruce Austin of Lubbock Texas, and the late Suzanne Strawn Austin of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Mike was a 1980 graduate of Wichita Falls High School where he ran hurdles for the Coyotes. After graduation, Mike enlisted in the Army and was in basic training at Fort Sill. Afterwards, he was sent to Hawaii.

Mike is survived by his high school sweetheart Kristie of Terre Haute; his father Bruce and stepmother Rebecca; a sister Tracey Austin Pepper of Wichita Falls; a sister, Angela Garcia of Lubbock; a brother, David Austin of Tulsa, Ok and a brother, Michael Anthony Austin of Lubbock.  Mike is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm in New Life Community Church of Terre Haute. Military Honors to follow. Online condolences may be left at www.samaritanfunerals.com
