James E.
Mosley
August 31, 1953 – January 4, 2025
James Edward Mosley (Jim) went home to be with the Lord peacefully on January 4, 2025, after battling cancer. He was born on August 31, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Evelyn and Chester Mosley. He grew up in Ewing, Virginia and later in his years moved to Indianapolis. He eventually made his home in Spencer, Indiana.
Jim was a dedicated husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by everyone who knew him and always put others before himself. He loved to laugh and joke with all those he encountered. He will be greatly missed.
He was a highly respected and hardworking electrician and was the owner of Mosley and Son Electric from which he retired.
Jim dedicated his life to being a compassionate and loving caregiver to his sister, Ginny for over 40 years. While caring for Ginny, he grew to love the outdoors even more. Being outdoors gave he and Nancy many chances to take Ginny for long walks and say hello to everyone they met.
Jim also was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed going to and being in as many car shows as possible all over Indiana. He won numerous trophies that he was proud of.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy (Logan); daughters Marsha (Andy) Hetser, Karen (David) Ayers, Tina Miller, Heather (Marcos) Kraus; son Andy Miller; grandchildren, Natalie Hetser, Eryn Hetser, Tyler (Kendra) Ayers, Shelby (Michael) Geissman, Billy Rush, Victoria Rush, Devon (Aleyda) Shockey, Kevin Shockey, Isabel Miller and Emma Miller; great-grandchildren, Lexington McLaughlin, Carter Collins, Josiah Rush and Charlotte Rush; brothers - Thomas Mosley, Victor (Mory) Mosley, Joseph Mosley; sisters - Virginia Mosley and Annie Hodge and many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and his granddaughter, Lauren Rink.
In order to fulfill one of Jim's final requests, there will be no funeral services. However, a celebration of life will be held on Jim's birthday, August 31, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mark of Discipleship-In Gods Arms Fellowship at 95 W Franklin Street Spencer, Indiana. Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Bret Mishler officiating. Please join us to share your stories and memories of our beloved Jim as we gather to remember his exceptionally generous spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that contributions be made in memory of Jim to: Christian Care and Share Food Pantry, 2910 East Co Road 800 South, Clay City, IN 47841.
