James "Pete" Carson Cottom, 63, passed away on February 17, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born on February 26, 1960 in Terre Haute to George Cottom and Beverly (Haase) Cottom. James loved being on the family farm and listening to Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson.

He is survived by his companion Terry Cottom, daughter Crystal Cottom, brother Jerry Cottom, sister Martha Cottom, Venda Blansett, and Nancy Fausett; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and caregivers Rosie and Ellen. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers Van Cottom and Mark Cottom.
